The observatory trail connects the Observatory Campground with the Palomar Observatory. The area is filled with a mixture of Oak and Pine, and offers a variety of wildlife. Woodpeckers and Blue Jays are easily spotted along the trail.
From Interstate 15, follow CA 76 East. At the intersection of CA 76 and S6, turn left heading North. Follow S6 highway which winds up the mountain for about 6 miles. At the intersection of S6 and S7 highways, turn left and follow S6 for about 3 miles. Trailhead is located within the Observatory campground and is well marked.
